Adam Haines was the fourth son of Christian and Margaret (Bill) Haines. He was born on March 2, 1872 in Bills Valley, south of Arcadia, Wisconsin. He grew to manhood on his father's farm in Bills Valley.

Adam married Elizabeth Pampuch on November 5, 1895. Elizabeth was born on March 25, 1875.

After their marriage, Adam farmed in Trout Run Valley, which is a short distance south of Bills Valley. He farmed on a partnership basis with his brother, John J Haines until 1929 when his brother passed away.

After John's death, Adam farmed with his two sons, Eugene and Bensel. He was a progressive farmer, having started one of the first and largest purebred Brown Swiss dairy herds in the County.

After his retirement, his two sons cared for his farm and later his son, Eugene purchased the farm and was actively engaged in farming until 1985 when he passed away. After retiring from the farm, Adam and his wife Elizabeth lived in Arcadia, Wisconsin for a number of years.

Adam died on April 10, 1946 and Elizabeth passed away March 16, 1955.

They are buried in Calvary Cemetery near Arcadia.
